The ancient theatre of Sikyon, although quite well-known, is not very easy to find in the hills south of modern Kiato. - Erected in the 4th century BC, it has an orchestra with a diameter of 20 m and a cavea of 125 m in diameter. The latter, separated in two by a diazoma (ambulatory), is divided into 15 wedge-shaped cunei by 16 radiating staircases. - First excavations at Sikyon were conducted in 1887-91 by the American School of Classical Studies, and have been continued in later and quite recent years.

The upper ambulatory has a vaulted passage at each end, but there are also two parodoi to enter the cavea as in other theatres.
